Renaissance Austin Downtown Hotel

Travel

for the outdoorsy folks:

Barton Springs Pool: Beloved by Austin locals and tourists alike, Barton Springs is a massive natural spring-fed pool located in the heart of Zilker Park. The water stays at a refreshing 68–70°F year-round. Hiking & Trails: The Barton Creek Greenbelt stretches over 7 miles through a limestone canyon with multiple trail access points. For hill country views, Mount Bonnell is a short but steep climb with one of the best views of Downtown Austin and the Colorado River. Or for a laid back walk alongside the river check out the Butler Hike & Bike Trail. Kayaking & Paddleboarding: A favorite weekend activity for the bride & groom! Rentals are available at multiple places on Town Lake (aka Lady Bird Lake, IYKYK), one favorite being Texas Rowing Center.

eats & beats:

Austin has countless neighborhoods to eat good food, grab a cocktail, and listen to live music. Here are a few pockets of town you can check out. East* 6th Street: There are different parts of 6th St, and the East side (east of I-35) is super walkable with something for everyone. Our faves: Whisler's for a cocktail, Shangri-La for a dive-y vibe, Mother's Ruin for elevated bar food, or White Horse for some country dancin'. Rainey Street: A downtown street with plenty of chill vibes, live music on patios, cocktail bars, or food trucks. Our faves: Banger's for a brat and beer, Fleet coffee for a Saturday morning pick-me-up, or Lucille Patio Lounge for a good cocktail. South Lamar: A little more spread out than the other parts of town mentioned, but tons of great spots to eat, drink and shop that still have the old-Austin charm. Our faves: San Gnies for a specialty coffee or tapas, or Matt's El Rancho for classic Tex Mex, or Broken Spoke for another historic honky tonk. South Congress: SoCo has a quirky blend of Texas roots and modern luxury with lots of boutiques, outdoor markets, bars and restaurants, and upscale shopping. Our faves: Continental Club for live music, Cafe Magnolia for brunch, Home Slice for the best pizza, or Amy's Ice Cream for a sweet treat.

Things to Do

We kindly request formal attire for our garden wedding. Suits, cocktail, midi, or floor-length dresses, and elegant pantsuits are all wonderful choices. Please note that our ceremony will be held outdoors on the lawn. We encourage guests to consider footwear suitable for grass, as narrow heels may sink into the ground.
